Driver dies, child hurt in crash
A 29-year-old man has been killed and a toddler injured after a car crashed into the wall of a house.

The blue 4x4 vehicle was extensively damaged in the collision in Pengam Road, Aberbargoed, in Caerphilly county, at 1920 BST on Friday.

Gwent Police want information from anyone who saw the vehicle being driven erratically in the area.

They also want to trace the driver of a silver Vauxhall Astra thought to have narrowly avoided a collision with it.

A toddler, who was in the vehicle at the time of the crash, was taken to the Prince Charles Hospital, in Merthyr Tydfil.

Inspector Gareth Beak of Gwent Police said the child was not "thought to be seriously injured".

Police have not yet named the man, who lived locally.

The road was closed until 2330 BST on Friday while inquiries and examinations were carried out at the scene.
