Island bodies 'may be UK couple'
Police in Spain have found two bodies, believed to be those of a missing British couple.

The bodies of Brian and Tina Johnson, who are thought to orginally come from Swansea, were discovered on the island of Fuerteventura early on Sunday.

A Foreign Office spokesman confirmed the couple had earlier gone missing. The find was made at 0145 local time.

He said: "Two bodies have been found. A post-mortem is to be carried out to confirm their identities."

He told the Press Association: "Family have been informed and we are offering consular assistance and police are investigating."

One report said the couple, in their late 50s, had lived at La Oliva on the island for some years and had been missing from their home since Tuesday.

La Guardia Civil in Puerto del Rosario on the island are in charge of the investigation but no-one was available for comment on Sunday.
