Schools shut as freeze continues
Snow on roads in north east Wales on Sunday
Police are advising drivers to take extra care
More freezing weather in north Wales has created dangerous driving conditions and a handful of school closures in the region.

North Wales Police reported icy roads in south Gwynedd, Colwyn Bay, Wrexham and Flintshire and warned drivers to take care.

Five school closures have been reported in Flintshire, Wrexham, Denbighshire and Torfaen.

The cold weather on Monday follows heavy snow in Wales at the weekend.

In Flintshire, Castell Alun High School, Hope, in Flintshire was closed because of icy conditions, while Richard Gwyn Catholic High School was shut due to burst water pipes.

In Wrexham, Rhosddu Primary was shut on Monday because of heating problems. St Mary's Primary School, Brymbo, is also closed.

Other schools reported to be closed include Ysgol Dinas Bran, Llangollen, Denbighshire, and Abersychan Comprehensive School in Torfaen, but staff were expected to go in.
