Police said the man suffered leg injuries
A 38-year-old man is recovering in hospital after his leg was trapped by a bus in south Wales.

The accident happened in Wood Street in Cardiff city centre - near the scene of a fatal collision involving another bus from the same company a week ago.

Both vehicles were owned by Cardiff Bus. The company said it was co-operating fully with the police.

The man involved in Saturday's incident was treated for leg injuries at the University Hospital of Wales.

His identity has not been released.

South Wales Police were called to the scene around 2200 GMT.

Just eight days before the accident, Daniel Richard Thorne, 25, from Chepstow, died after being involved in a collision with a bus on the corner of Wood Street and St Mary's Street.

He was trapped under the bus and emergency services spent three-quarters of an hour trying to release him.

The accident happened a few hours after the end of the Wales-Fiji match at the Millennium Stadium, on Friday, 11 November.

Saturday's accident occurred three hours after South Africa beat Wales at the stadium.
