Two girls who died after their car crashed into a storm drain in Merthyr Tydfil were sisters, police have said.
Kristy Moseley, 18, and Jodie Moseley, 16, from Pontlottyn, Rhymney Valley, were travelling towards Pentrebach when the car crashed on Saturday.
The teenagers died from their injuries at the crash scene on the A4060.
Relatives said the sisters were "typical teenagers", adding: "A void has appeared in our lives and can never be filled."
No other vehicle was involved in the crash apart from the Ford Fiesta the girls were driving, but police want to speak to witnesses in a white van and a light-coloured car who may have seen the accident.
In a statement, the sisters' parents said: "Kristy and Jodie were two beautiful girls who were tragically taken from us. No words can express the love we felt for them.

"Kristy has been described as a fun loving girl who was pursuing her dream of becoming a midwife.
"She hoped to go to university next year and was studying hard.
"She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with Lyn, her long term boyfriend, who is absolutely devastated and heartbroken by the loss."
The statement continued: "Jodie was a 16-year-old who was full of life. She was also fulfilling her dream of becoming a hairdresser. She left school in July and began a hairdressing course.
"Both girls were typical teenagers. They loved fashion, make-up and music.
"The family are absolutely devastated by the loss of both girls. A void has appeared in their lives and it can never be filled."
South Wales Police have appealed for anyone who saw the accident, or who saw the Fiesta before it crashed, to contact them on 01443 743734 or 01685 722541.
