A man who died after being involved in a collision with a bus in Cardiff city centre has been named by police.
Daniel Richard Thorne, 25, from Chepstow, was declared dead at the scene after the incident at the junction of St Mary Street and Wood Street.
Police have appealed for information about the accident, which happened at 2320 GMT on Friday.
Cardiff Bus has offered "sincere condolences" to Mr Thorne's family.
The bus driver has been offered counselling.
Surrounding roads were closed as emergency services worked for around three-quarters of an hour to release Mr Thorne from under the bus.
Police were at the scene within minutes, as the city centre was busy at the time, with many people in Cardiff for the Wales-Fiji game.
The number 49 bus service was within yards of the central bus station when the incident happened.
A spokesperson for Cardiff Bus said the company was co-operating fully with the police in their investigations.
South Wales Police said the accident occurred outside the Prince of Wales public house. They want anyone who saw the accident, or anyone who was in the area at the time, to contact them on 029 20527226 or 20222111.
