Teachers posted lessons on the school's website
Pupils sent home from a flood-hit secondary school have been denied a few days' rest after teachers posted lessons on the internet.

Pontarddulais Comprehensive School, near Swansea, was closed after flood waters from a nearby culvert wrecked most of the ground floor.

Teachers published lessons on the school's website so pupils could continue studying during the clean-up.

Head teacher John Radford said he hoped students could return next week.

Damage

Mr Radford said: "Its been extremely difficult the last few days since the flood.

"Although we've allowed Year 11 students back, the rest of the pupils are still unable to come to school.

"Teachers have now been in and prepared lessons that we have posted onto the school's website. Pupils can access their specific page and continue their studies while we clean up the school."

Staff are working with Swansea Council to repair the damage caused by the flood.

Mr Radford said he hoped to be able to give pupils and parents more information on the condition of the school on Friday.

"I want to thank Swansea Council's Education Department for all their assistance during the last few days," he added.
