Residents of eight houses in Ebbw Vale have spent the night away from their homes following a small landslip on a mountain behind their road.
The houses on Pennant Street were evacuated after heavy rain.
A geologist is to assess the area on Monday to see if it is safe for residents to return home.
Blaenau Gwent council's emergency planning team asked the householders to leave their homes on Sunday because they feared a slip may happen.
Environment Agency Wales had issued 33 flood warnings and 46 flood watches across Wales due to rain falling on ground that was already saturated.
That figure was later revised to seven flood warnings in force and 24 flood watches as the weather eased.
The alert came after flooding had seen roads closed in south Wales, Powys and Ceredigion, with fire crews trying to divert flood water from a number of properties. In mid and south Wales, council workers had been out laying down sandbags.

The Environment Agency was urging the public to be vigilant. The Met Office said the weather would improve later.
In south and west Wales, the flood warnings issued covered the Rhymney Valley, the Rivers Tawe and Neath, and the Rivers Usk, Vyrynwy and Loughor.
In north Wales there was a warning in place for the Lower Dee Valley. Dyfed Powys Police said roads were flooded in Powys and Ceredigion.
The A4067 between Ystradgynlais and Brecon was under two-to-three feet of water in parts and was closed.
There was also flooding on the A43 at Llanddewi, north of Llandrindod Wells, and on a road in Llanbadarn Fawr, but neither was closed.

Mid and West Wales Fire Service said they were diverting flood water away from properties in the Neath Port Talbot area.
The A4109 road in Aberdulais, near the railway bridge, was closed along with Cyfyng Road, in Ystalyfera near Pontardawe and Dulais Fach Road, in Tonna. No properties were directly affected by flood water.
The fire service said a canal near Neath which runs parallel with a railway line and the main Briton Ferry Road had burst its banks.
It also said council workers were in the Banwen, Mumbles, Trebanos, Neath and Brecon areas laying down sandbags.
Police have put out warning signs on a number of flood warning signs along the A4059 at Aberdare, in Rhondda Cynon Taf. Some horses at Aberaman had to be moved from a field after water rose up around them.
Also, a fireworks display due to have been held in Pontypridd on Sunday evening was cancelled.
