Walkers safe after blizzard alert
Snow scene in mid Wales on Thursday
Snow fell in most parts of Wales, up to four inches in Powys
Mountain rescuers have found two people who were lost in the Brecon Beacons in blizzard conditions.

The man and woman managed to call the police after losing their way while walking up Pen y fan, the highest peak in the national park.

Twenty rescue workers searched for them on Neuadd mountain, concerned that the pair faced the risk of hypothermia once it was dark.

Snow has fallen in many areas of Wales, closing a number of schools.

There are no major problems on the roads, but motorists have been urged to take care in icy conditions.

Flights to Paris ahead of the weekend's rugby are leaving Cardiff after being cancelled on Wednesday due to snow in France.

Eastern areas, including Deeside, Ewloe and Flint, were covered by a dusting of snow overnight but roads were not reported to be badly affected.

In north east Wales, snow affected roads in upland areas but all main routes were open.

Conditions were worst on the Denbigh and Llandegla moors, where gritting teams have worked to keep roads clear. The Horseshoe Pass is open.
