Booze ban at Wales game

A Welsh police force has paid £5,000 compensation in an out-of-court settlement to a former special constable after she was sexually harassed by a male officer.

Dyfed-Powys Police has also sent Christine Fraser a letter of apology after incidents on two residential induction weekends in the summer of 1997.

The male constable, who had 30 years' service, was suspended from duty and, following disciplinary proceedings, was required to resign.


Attack victim leaves hospital

The son of Tracey Hodgkinson, 35, found murdered in her Connah's Quay home 10 days ago has been discharged from hospital.

Edward Lloyd, 11, sustained head injuries in the attack.

The funeral of Sean Hodgkinson will take place on Friday in Bolton. He was found dead on a railway line on the same day that his wife, was found battered to death.


Pensioner dies at sea

An elderly woman has died in the sea off west Wales.

The woman was playing with her grandchildren at West Angle Bay near Milford Haven.

It is believed the woman, who was in her 70s and from the London area, may have suffered a heart attack.
