Bridge collision disrupts trains
Arriva train - generic
Arriva has apologised to any inconvenience to passengers
Train services are returning to normal after being disrupted when a lorry collided with a bridge at Ruabon, near Wrexham on Friday evening.

However, passengers on Sunday are still being urged to check with National Rail inquiries before travelling.

A spokesman for Arriva Trains said works that had been planned for Sunday would be going ahead, and bus replacements are in place.

The bridge collision caused delays between Wrexham and Shrewsbury.

Some services were cancelled as a result of the incident.

However, trains to and from Manchester, where Wales' football team played England in a World Cup qualifier, were not affected.

"Both lines are now open," said the spokesman.

"One is open to full speed, one has speed restrictions, but they should have virtually no impact on services," he added.

Arriva Trains has apologised for any inconvenience caused.
