Two arrested over A40 death
Police at the scene
Police closed the road for 17 hours
Two people have been arrested in connection with the death of a self-employed builder who was hit by a vehicle which did not stop the A40 near Llandovery in Carmarthenshire.

The road was closed for around 17 hours after the body of John William Williamson, a 41-year-old local man, was found at 0400 BST on Sunday at an area known as Ystrad Flats.

Dyfed-Powys Police say a man was arrested for failing to stop following the accident.

A woman was also arrested.

Both have been interviewed and released on police bail while further enquiries are carried out.

Detectives are renewing their appeal for information.

They particularly want any taxi drivers who were travelling along the road in the early hours of the morning on Sunday.

An incident room has been set up at Ammanford police station, and anyone with information can contact detectives there on 01269 590559.
