Caostguards have confirmed they will not resume a search for a 17-year-old boy who went missing when a boat capsized on a fishing trip.
The teenager from Morriston, was with his father and his father's friend in a small speedboat just off Llangennith beach at Rhossili Bay, Gower, when it capsized on Sunday.
The boy's father, aged 35, has told coastguards how their small speedboat overturned and how he and his son were trapped under the boat in an air bubble, before trying to swim to safety.
The father and family friend managed to swim to shore.
A spokesman for the Coastguard said on Monday: "After six hours of searching until darkness on Sunday, and also a
thorough coastal search at first light on Monday, still the man is missing
presumed drowned."
It has emerged that none of fishermen were wearing life jackets when their boat was capsized by swell.
A spokesman for the coastguard said : "After the boat capsized they did try to put them on, but that is very difficult once you are in the water."
Emergency services were alerted at around 1500 BST by a member of the public who saw someone clinging to the hull of the boat.
A lifeboat was on the scene within minutes. Coastguard rescue teams and an RAF helicopter then joined in the search but he still had not been found as darkness fell, and the search was called off for the night.
Hundreds of people were enjoying the early sunshine at Rhossili Bay as the drama unfolded.
The area has miles of attractive sand and is popular with beach-lovers, surfers, hang-gliders and fishermen.
