Arlene Osman and baby Kloe - a future Miss World?
|
A mother has placed a £5 bet on her one-year-old daughter being crowned Miss World by the time she reaches 21.
Pharmacy worker Arlene Osman, 33, placed the stake at odds of 10,000 to 1 that her bonny baby will become Miss Wales and then Miss World in 20 years' time.
Mrs Osman, from Pontypridd, south Wales, will win £50,000 from William Hill bookmakers if blue-eyed baby Kloe grows up to be officially named as the world's most beautiful woman.
She said blonde-haired Kloe has already developed a bubbly personality.
The proud mother added: "She's a pretty girl. She's always smiling at everyone.
"I went on a cruise and everyone was really taken with her. If people walk past her, she can't understand why."
Tall future
Mrs Osman, who is originally from Motherwell in Scotland, won a beauty pageant when she was a child.
At 5ft tall she believes she would have "no chance" in the Miss World competition herself, but believes Kloe will grow up to be taller as her plumber husband Nicky, 34, stands at more than 6ft.
One previous Miss Wales has gone on to win the Miss World title, Helen Morgan, of Barry.
She won in 1974 only to have her crown taken away later when organisers discovered she was married and had a child, which they said was against the rules of the competition.
