investigating allegations of possession of child pornography.
Jonathan Summers was arrested as part of Operation Ore - an international crackdown on internet pornography.
South Wales Police also seized computers from his home in Bridgend, south Wales.
Mr Summers, who has been questioned by police, was a physics teacher at the
private Howell's School for Girls in Llandaff, Cardiff.
Headmistress Jane Fitz confirmed that Mr Summers' contract had been
terminated following his arrest.
She said: "Mr Summers is no longer working at
the school.
"We have complied with the area child protection committee guidelines and
are co-operating fully with the police investigation.
Computers taken
"This is a matter external to the school."
Police removed computers from 32-year-old Mr Summers' home as part of their
investigation into the alleged use of an American paedophile website.
A South Wales Police spokesman said: "We can confirm that a 32-year-old man
from the Bridgend area has been arrested in connection with Operation Ore.
"Inquiries are ongoing."
