Picture gallery: Sikh Vaisakhi festival
The Sikh community in Wales has been celebrating one of the most important dates in its religious calendar over the weekend.
Sikhs in Cardiff and Newport have been taking part in the Vaisakhi Harvest festival, which represents the first day of the month and year. BBC News Online selects some of the images from the festival at the Cardiff Gurdwara in Pearl Street, Splott.
The festival is the most important date in the Sikh calendar
Most Sikhs, which means seekers of truth, are baptised during the festival
Sikhism is based on the concept of universal acceptance of all humanity and the belief in One Creator
There are 18-20 million Sikhs in the world, with 500,000 Sikhs in the UK
The decorated flag is placed on the front of the Gurdwara, or temple, to signify the start of the festival
Sikhism was founded in the 15th century by Guru Nanak in northwest India
