Rugby star caught speeding
Shane Williams in action
Shane Williams was caught by a speed camera
Welsh rugby star Shane Williams has been fined 200 for speeding in his sports car.

A court heard Wales and Neath winger Williams, 23, was caught speeding in his Toyota MR2 Roadster at almost twice the speed limit.

The winger - a favourite with rugby fans for his lightning pace - was clocked doing 57mph in a 30mph zone.

Williams was caught by an automatic speed camera in his grey 120mph car in Pontardawe, near Swansea.

He pleaded guilty and was fined 300 and charged 40 costs by Neath magistrates.

The player's driving licence was also endorsed with six points.

Williams missed the court date to prepare with the Wales squad for Sunday's clash with South Africa at the Millennium Stadium.

He has scored five tries in his six full caps for Wales with his nippy pace.

He later refused to comment on his conviction.
