Hammer 'found near murder scene'
Murder scene, Bridgend
Rebecca Storrs' body was found in a river
A murder trial has been told how a hammer found near the spot where south Wales schoolgirl Rebecca Storrs was found belonged to the father of a friend of her alleged killer.

Witness Christopher Lamb identified the hammer as his when it was presented at Cardiff Crown Court.

"It was mine, but my daughter Michelle borrowed it.

" It's got yellow paint on it, which she decorated her house with. It is my hammer," he said.

The court had been told previously how alleged killer Marc Shillibier had stayed at Miss Lamb's home in Looe, Cornwall, after Rebecca's body had been found.

The court also heard how soil found in Mr Shillibier's car was an apparent match for soil samples taken from the scene of the crime.

Ms Storrs, 18, was found in the River Ogmore after going to a houseparty with friends.

She met Mr Shillibier, 33, at the party - and the court heard he killed her after she spurned his sexual advances.

Mr Shillibier, a former fish factory worker from Bridgend, denies murder. The trial continues.
