Bitumen fire close to oil plant

Firefighters have been dealing with a blaze which broke out at a bitumen tank near an oil refinery in Dundee.

Six appliances were at the scene close to the Nynas UK site on East Camperdown Street.

It is understood water may have become mixed with the bitumen which began steaming and later caught fire.

Tayside Police said fire crews were on the scene but that the fire was not believed to be a danger to the public or to the refinery.
