Police officer faces data charge

A policewoman has been accused of breaching the Data Protection Act and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

PC Karen Howie, 33, of Tayside Police, appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court in connection with the allegations.

She made no plea or declaration during the brief appearance.

Ms Howie was remanded in custody following the hearing and is due to appear again at the court in a week's time.
