Cyclist seriously hurt in crash

A cyclist has been left with a broken neck and back after a collision with a car in Perthshire.

The 46-year-old was injured on the A912 Perth to Gateside road after colliding with a blue Ford Fiesta.

Tayside Police said the accident happened on a stretch of road near to Bridge of Earn at about 0720 BST.

The cyclist was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

Once there it was established both his back and neck had been broken in the crash.

They have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash to get in contact with them.
