Tributes have been paid to a 66-year-old mother of two who died the day after she was struck on the head by a golf ball. Charity volunteer Janet Llewellyn from West Dunbartonshire was injured in a practice match at the Strathendrick Golf Club, Stirlingshire, on 1 October. Her close friend Cathy McGroarty, 79, described the incident at the club in Drymen as a "total freak accident". A funeral service for Mrs Llewellyn will take place on Saturday. Her son Richard confirmed she had been struck on the head by the golf ball which had caused an injury. Mrs Llewellyn, who lived in Balloch, worked as a volunteer at the Vale of Leven Hospital. "She was very good at work. She was always so active and full of life and a very nice person to know," said Mrs McGroarty.
