Inquiry into double fire deaths

Firefighters were called to the flat on Monday afternoon

An investigation is under way into the cause of a fire at a flat in Perthshire which left two people dead.

A man, aged 45, and a woman, aged 42, were found inside the property in Alma Place, Crieff, at about 1640 BST on Monday.

The pair, who have not been named, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Tayside Police and Tayside Fire and Rescue Service are carrying out a joint investigation although the blaze is not thought to be suspicious.
