Ministers meet away from capital

Alex Salmond
The first minister and his cabinet will hold meetings across Scotland

The Scottish first minister and his cabinet are due to gather for a meeting in Dundee.

It is one of five cabinet meetings to take place away from the capital during the parliamentary recess.

There will also be a Homecoming reception and a national conversation event with members of the public.

This follows on from last year's summer cabinet programme which saw meetings in Dumfries, Inverness, Pitlochry and Skye.

First Minister Alex Salmond said: "As a government, we are committed to staying in touch with the people and the issues.

"Taking the cabinet out of Edinburgh to venues around Scotland provides us with the perfect opportunity to do this."
