New acts introduced to T festival

The Law
Dundee band The Law will be one of the acts on the BBC Introducing stage

Up-and-coming musicians are getting the chance to showcase their songs to thousands of festival-goers on a new stage at T in the Park.

The BBC Introducing stage will host 22 acts over 11 and 12 July at the festival in Balado, Kinross-shire.

Eight of the acts are from Scotland, including Dundee-based The Law and Unicorn Kid from Edinburgh.

The performances will be recorded for broadcast across television, radio and online.

Jason Carter, editor of BBC Introducing, said: "We're very excited to be bringing a BBC Introducing stage for the first time to Scotland, and especially delighted to be taking it to yet another of the premier festivals in the UK.

"Brand new up-and-coming artists from around the country, selected by the BBC, will be able to play alongside some of the biggest artists in the world.

"Some of the early BBC Introducing artists have gone onto major success and I'm sure, having heard the T line-up, we will be hearing more from some of these artists in the future."
