Cyclists injured in road crashes

Three cyclists have been injured in two separate road accidents in Tayside.

In the first incident, a 13-year-old boy suffered serious leg injuries after a crash involving a HGV tractor unit in Kirkton Road, Arbroath.

He was treated by paramedics and the Ninewells hospital trauma team at about 1835 BST on Wednesday before being taken to hospital under police escort.

Then, at about 2020 BST, two cyclists collided on the B9097 near Cleish. One has serious injuries the other minor.

The cyclist who suffered serious injuries was admitted to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Police have appealed for witnesses to both crashes to come forward.
