Man in court over youth's murder

A 23-year-old man has appeared in court charged with robbing and murdering a teenager whose body was found in a burn in Coupar Angus, Perthshire.

The body of Robbie Thomson, 17, was discovered by police in Coupar Burn on Thursday 26 March.

David Barker, from Coupar Angus, is accused of stabbing Mr Thomson, causing him to fall into the burn, and stealing two mobile phones from him.

Mr Barker made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.

No motion for bail was made.
