Council by-election taking place

A by-election is taking place in Dundee to find a new councillor for the Maryfield ward.

The vacancy arose after Labour's Joe Morrow resigned in February because of other commitments.

The candidates are: Angela Gorrie - SSP, Chris Hall - Lib Dem, George McIrvine - Labour, Craig Melville - SNP and Colin Stewart - Conservative.

There is one independent - Grant Simmons. The polls are open between 0700 GMT and 2200 GMT.
