Lost walker found safe and well

A man who failed to return from a hike in the Grampian mountains, sparking a search by rescue teams, has been found safe and well.

Police and a helicopter had taken part in the search, after the man failed to return from a walk near Blair Atholl.

Tayside Police said the walker, in his 50s, had been reported missing at about 2045 GMT on Saturday.

He found his way off the mountain on his own at about 0130 GMT and made his way to Moulin, near Pitlochry.
