The Killers head to T in the Park

The Killers will play the main stage at the festival in Balado

The Killers are set to headline this summer's T in the Park.

The Las Vegas four-piece will join Blur, Snow Patrol and Kings of Leon as the top acts on the main stage at the event in Balado, Kinross-shire.

The band are known for hits such as Somebody Told Me, When You Were Young, Smile Like You Mean It and Human.

Other acts already confirmed for the festival, which runs from 9 to 12 July, include Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Razorlight and Elbow.

The Killers first appeared at T in the Park in 2004 when they took to the Radio 1/NME stage.

This year, they will headline the main stage on Saturday 11 July.
