Hotel worker accused of robbery

Perth Sheriff Court
Bail was refused at Perth Sheriff Court and the case was continued

An assistant manager has appeared in court in connection with the theft of nearly £20,000 from the Perthshire hotel where he worked.

Keith Christie is alleged to have robbed the Fishers Hotel, then pulled a knife on a colleague and locked him in a room.

Mr Christie, 24, made no plea and was remanded in custody.

A warrant for the arrest of 23-year-old Mark Corbett, from Glasgow, was issued in connection with the same offences.

Cocaine supply

At Perth Sheriff Court, it was alleged that Mr Christie stole £17,028 from the hotel on 3 or 4 January and a further £2,200 cash on 4 January.

Mr Christie and another man are alleged to have detained Harprit Takkar at knifepoint and forced him into a room before locking it to prevent his escape.

It is alleged that Mr Takkar was forced to pretend to police that he had been assaulted by two masked men within the hotel.

It is further alleged that Mr Christie and a second man were concerned in the supply of cocaine from a room at the hotel on 4 January.

The case was continued for further examination.
