A 30-year-old Perthshire man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder.
Ross Cameron is accused of dousing a woman and a four-month-old baby with petrol and threatening to set them alight with a cigarette lighter.
The incident is alleged to have taken place at Mr Cameron's home in Nicoll Drive in Bankfoot, on Hogmanay.
The charge indicated that the child was being held in the female's arms at the time of the incident.
Mr Cameron also faced a second charge of attempting to murder the same woman at his home between 1 December and 31 December by attempting to strangle her.
The accused was also charged with attacking the woman with an axe handle, committing a breach of the peace by pouring petrol over a child's push chair and threatening to set it alight and resisting arrest by four police officers.
Mr Cameron made no plea when he appeared at Perth Sheriff Court on Saturday and his case was continued for further inquiries.
His application for bail was rejected and he was remanded in custody.
