Youths go on stone-throwing spree

Police are looking for witnesses to the attacks

Groups of young people in Montrose have been attacking people, their pets, homes and cars with stones.

The incidents happened between about 1830 GMT and 2130 GMT on Wednesday in several streets in the town.

At about 1930 GMT in Newhame Road a dog was injured by the stones. When the owner appeared he and his home were also targeted.

In Glenprosen Street, at about 2035 GMT, stones were flung at an elderly man who was shaken but not hurt.

At about 1830 GMT a group targeted vehicles near Montrose Infirmary.

Between 1955 GMT and 2035 GMT house windows were hit in Glenogil Street.

Windows were also targeted in Southesk Street at about 2055 GMT.

And then at about 2130 GMT a house in Little Nursery had a brick thrown through the door.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
