Artists will give demonstrations and put on workshops

Artists from across Perthshire are inviting people in to have a look at their work and how they created it.

The first Perthshire Open Studios event will run until Sunday 5 October.

More than 150 artists in 62 venues across the region will be giving displays, putting on workshops and chatting to the public.

The event covers a range of artwork - including painting, sculpture, photography, print making, textiles, glass, metal and stone working.

Chairwoman of the event, Luisa Ramazzotti, said: "The arts are an important part of people's lives and they are sometimes considered a bit mysterious.

"We feel that opening artists' studios and allowing the public to come in would break down the barriers.

"Also it would enable people to see how artists work and maybe even have a go at trying some of the arts and some of the skills that will be on offer."
