Celebrities to hit the fairways

Actor Hugh Grant will be among the stars in the Championship

Hollywood A-listers, million-selling musicians and sporting legends will all be taking to the fairways of Fife and Angus next week.

The celebrity line-up for the Dunhill Links Championship includes actors Samuel L Jackson, Hugh Grant, Kyle MacLachlan and Dougray Scott.

The musicians are represented by Ronan Keating, Huey Lewis, Don Felder from the Eagles and Bon Jovi's Tico Torres.

The competition is played at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns.

Pros and Celebs

It starts on Thursday and runs until Sunday.

Sporting stars who will be taking part include Sir Ian Botham, Sir Bobby Charlton and Sir Steve Redgrave.

Spectators will also be able to spot Dutch footballer Ruud Gullit, South African rugby player Morne du Plessis and cricketers Kapil Dev and Michael Vaughan.

The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship has a prize fund of 2.7m. It features an individual professional tournament and a team event where leading golfers are paired with amateurs.

The top golfers involved include Padraig Harrington, Ernie Els, Colin Montgomerie, Sam Torrance, Paul Casey, Justin Rose and Lee Westwood.
