Stainless steel farm gates stolen

Thieves have stolen two stainless steel gates used to secure animals at a farm in Balfron Station in rural Stirling.

Central Scotland Police said they were taken sometime between 1945 BST on Saturday and 0900 BST on Sunday.

The gates, measuring 12ft by 4ft, were used by the farmer to prevent sheep and cattle from escaping.

Officers said it was likely a vehicle would have been needed to help move the gates. They are urging anyone with information to contact them.
