The group wants to find out where there are gaps in homeless services

Young homeless people in Dundee are being asked what more needs to be done to help them get back on their feet.

A day-long consultation is taking place organised by the Youth Housing group, which is made up of around 20 support organisations from across the city.

The group hopes to learn about the effectiveness of services, how they can be improved and if there are any gaps.

The event is taking place at the Wishart Centre, and it is hoped about 50 young people will take part.

'Important opportunity'

The group is chaired by Angie Macdonald from the charity NCH Scotland.

She said: "This is a really important opportunity to find out what young people think of the services they receive.

"It will help the group improve the way we plan and develop future services to ensure we are doing the best we can to help young people who are homeless or at risk of becoming so."

Peter McKenna, housing regeneration manager for Dundee City Council, added: "It is important that we hear first hand from young people about their concerns so that we can work with our partners to do as much as we can to prevent youngsters becoming homeless."
