Bank worker threatened with gun

A bank worker has been threatened with a gun during an attempted robbery at a branch in Dundee.

The female staff member was in the car park of the Royal Bank of Scotland in Strathmartine Road at about 0820 BST when she was approached by a man.

He spoke briefly to her before pulling out the weapon.

However, as other people appeared he ran off into a black car which had been parked nearby. No-one was injured and nothing was stolen.

The culprit is about 6ft tall and wore a dark coat and trousers.

It is possible he was in his 40s.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
