Police hunt missing child abuser

Joseph Millbank
Millbank was released from prison on 6 May

A prolific sex offender who abused young girls from across Scotland has gone missing after being released from prison on licence.

Joseph Millbank, 47, was convicted in 2002 at the High Court in Aberdeen for a string of offences against children and sentenced to 10 years behind bars.

He left prison on 6 May but failed to comply with the conditions of his licence.

Tayside Police have warned he may be a danger to children.

Millbank was last seen in the Perth area on Friday 27 June.

In what was described as one of the biggest investigations of its kind at the time, he was jailed for assaults on 14 youngsters over a period of 10 years.

Police warned Millbank had previously posed as a council official.

Anyone who sees him or who knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact police immediately.
