The conference will look at traditional comics as well as Manga and Manhua
The home of the Beano, Dandy and Bunty is set to welcome comic fans from across the world this summer.
As part of the Dundee Literary Festival, the city will host its second international comic gathering.
Dundee's history with the comic will be explored, as will the growing popularity of Japanese Manga and Chinese Manhua publications.
Famous comic creator Bryan Talbot, the man behind Alice in Sunderland, will headline the event on 22 June.
Dr Christopher Murray from Dundee University said: "Comics are a wonderful form of literary and artistic expression.
"They are fun for all ages, a unique artform, and Dundee is a city with a long and proud history of comics production.
"Comics Day will give everyone, young and not so young alike, an opportunity to learn a lot more about the amazing world of comics."
