Indecent assault on young girls

Police tape
Police have appealed for help following the assault

A man who subjected two young girls to an indecent assault in Falkirk is being hunted by police.

Central Scotland Police said the incident happened within a park area at Barnego Road, Dunipace, between 1430 and 1600 BST on 3 May.

The girls, aged eight and nine, were assaulted by a man, described as being in his 60s or 70s with grey hair and who had a small brown dog.

Det Sgt Alan Bateman said he was keen for any witnesses to come forward.

He added: "Fortunately neither girl was hurt, but we are obviously keen to speak to anyone who recognises the description given or indeed the individual himself.

"This has been an isolated incident but one which we are extremely anxious to resolve."
