Nine-year-old on vandalism charge

Central Scotland Police HQ
The force said dealing with vandalism was a top priority

A nine-year-old boy has been referred to the Children's Reporter after a school and church in Stirling were vandalised.

Central Scotland Police said St Marks church in Raploch and the area's newly opened community campus were targeted.

A police spokeswoman said the incidents, involving graffiti and damage to the school's toilets, date from January and March.

Chief Insp Iain Wright said vandalism was a top priority for the force.

He added: "The Raploch Campus is a fantastic resource for the people of the Raploch and a significant investment has been put into this by the local authority.

"Vandalism is one of our priorities and we will continue to deal with these matters robustly for the sake of the communities."
