Worry continues over missing man

John McAnish
Mr McAnish requires vital medication for an existing condition

Police investigating the disappearance of a Stirling man have renewed their call for information.

The appeal to find John McAnish, 45, comes after a man fitting his description was seen on Sunday 6 April.

Central Scotland Police have said the last known sighting of Mr McAnish, from Causewayhead, was made by a friend on Wednesday 2 April.

The force have asked locals to check gardens, out-buildings and sheds for any sign of him.

Mr McAnish's family have said they are "extremely concerned" for his welfare as he requires medication for a serious condition.

He is described as stocky, 5ft 7in tall, with balding cropped brown hair and was wearing a khaki parka when last seen.

Sgt Roddy Swan said: "We are concerned for John's welfare and are asking for the public's assistance in helping us trace him.

"He may have found somewhere to sleep rough and we are asking the public to check their gardens or business premises for any presence of him."

Sgt Swan warned that unless Mr McAnish, who is well known in Stirling's music scene, accessed his medication, his life could be at risk.
