A fresh appeal for information in a 29-year-old murder inquiry has prompted more than 20 calls from the public in three days, police have said.
Tayside officers launched the new appeal on Tuesday asking for help in catching Carol Lannen's killer.
The 18-year-old's body was discovered in Templeton Woods, Dundee, in March 1979.
Less than a year later, the body of 20-year-old nursery nurse Elizabeth McCabe was found in the same area.
The force said that since Tuesday, 20 calls have been received from the Dundee area, Angus and the Mearns and Aberdeenshire.
At a press conference, Detective Chief Inspector Ewen West said several new lines of inquiry were being followed into Miss Lannen's death.
Red vehicle
He said particular attention had recently been focused on Aberdeenshire, where Miss Lannen's handbag was found on the banks of the River Don at Kintore days after her body was found.
DCI West said that the "vast majority" of information provided this week was new to the investigation, and added that officers will be speaking to most of the callers in person.
He said: "We have had more than 20 responses over the last three days, a number of those via Crimestoppers.
"What has impressed me is that we are not going over old ground here - the vast majority of the information is completely new to the investigation.
"That information is as crucial now as it was in 1979."
Miss Lannen was last seen at about 2000 GMT on Tuesday, 20 March, 1979, in the area of Exchange St, Dundee, getting into a red vehicle driven by a man.
