Drug supply 'disrupted' by raids
Drug supplies across central Scotland area have been systematically disrupted by a month-long pre-Christmas operation, according to police.

Illegal substances valued at £578,467 were seized by officers during Operation Advent Calendar.

The bulk of the drugs confiscated came from a property in Falkirk, where more than £500,000 of cannabis, amphetamine and cocaine was found.

In total, 34 people have been reported to the procurator fiscal.

Outstanding warrants

Police raided 16 properties in Falkirk, seven in Clackmannanshire and seven in Stirling.

They reported 33 supply offences to the procurator fiscal and 30 possession charges.

A Central Scotland Police drug squad spokesman said: "The aim was to target an average of a dealer a day in the run-up to Christmas and that has been achieved.

"However, our activity in targeting drug supplies in Central Scotland is not just focused on this period, we have a number of outstanding warrants and our message to dealers is simple: the New Year will see no let up in our enforcement activity."
