Woods murder case jury sent out
Elizabeth McCabe
The body of Elizabeth McCabe was found in Templeton Woods
The jury in the Templeton Woods murder trial has been sent out to consider its verdict.

Vincent Simpson is accused of killing Elizabeth McCabe, whose body was found in the woods in Dundee in 1980.

The 61-year-old, from Camberley in Surrey, denies the charges against him, claiming he has an alibi.

The judge at the High Court in Edinburgh said jurors had to consider whether the evidence was of sufficient quality, character and strength.

Lord Kinclaven told them they must not convict Mr Simpson on the basis of DNA evidence alone.

He added that they should acquit him if they had any reasonable doubt about the evidence.
