Perthshire is to be at the forefront of a new campaign to market Scotland as an adventure tourist's paradise.
The Adventure Passport plan will see the area advertised as a prime location for activities such as white water rafting and mountaineering.
The project, which has previously focused on Fort William and Lochaber, is being run by VisitScotland.
The organisation believes the adventure tourism industry could be worth £848m by 2015 for Scotland.
The campaign will involve 119 listed adventure sport companies who offer 47 different activities across the country.
'More money'
The passport includes 32 special offers, with a selection of deals for activity, accommodation, food and drink.
The offers will be valid from October to May next year, with the aim of attracting visitors at a time of year when the tourist industry slows.
Vicki Miller, VisitScotland Perthshire area director, said: "The amenities within Perthshire mean the area is in a prime location to capitalise on the burgeoning adventure market.
"The passport itself will be an excellent tool to encourage visitors to stay longer, come at traditionally quieter times of the year and spend more money while on their trip."
The aim of the passport is to position Scotland as Europe's Adventure Capital.
