CD-ROMs and DVDs are a major target for counterfeiters

More than 1,000 CD-ROMs seized in a counterfeit sting have been given to a visually impaired group.
The blank discs were taken during the latest crackdown by Dundee City Council's trading standards team.
The discs will be used to record "talking" newsletters for distribution among members of Dundee Visually Impaired Society.
The society provides information on support services, welfare, eye conditions, equipment, and mobility.
George Regan, convener of the council's housing, Dundee contracts and environmental services committee, said: "As part of trading standards anti-counterfeiting work, staff have seized these discs, which pirates use to copy their films and music on to.
"Counterfeiting damages businesses of all sizes and ultimately cuts jobs and harms creative potential, so we were more than happy to be able to offer a creative solution to the problems faced by one of the city's long-established charities."
Jenny Reid, of the Dundee Visually Impaired Society, said: "Now thanks to this generous donation from the council we will be able to support blind and partially sighted people across the city more cost-effectively."
