Witness tells trial of body find
Elizabeth McCabe
Elizabeth McCabe went missing after a night out in 1980
A murder trial has heard about the discovery of a nursery nurse's naked body in Dundee's Templeton Woods more than 27 years ago.

The first policeman on the scene, David Gibson, said he found Elizabeth McCabe 16 days after she disappeared.

The jury at the High Court in Edinburgh was also shown photographs of the body, which had a dark blue jumper draped over its shoulders.

Vincent Simpson from Surrey has denied murdering Miss McCabe.

She went missing after a night out in Dundee city centre in February 1980, and her body was found on the eve of her 21st birthday.

Mr Simpson, from Camberley, has lodged defences of alibi and incrimination.

The 61-year-old's defence has lodged with the court a list of 13 names, who they claim could have killed Miss McCabe.

The trial continues.
