Appeal for pool death witnesses
Olympia pool
Luke's body was found in the deep end of the main pool
Detectives investigating the death of a schoolboy at a leisure centre have appealed for swimmers to come forward.

Luke Hutton, aged seven, drowned in the main pool at Dundee's Olympia Leisure Centre on Saturday.

Officers want to speak to members of the public who were using the facility at about 1700 BST on that day.

In particular, they are trying to trace a couple who were pushing a child on an orange float shaped like a pair of glasses, just before the pool closed.

Luke, who lived in the Ardler area of the city, was discovered at the bottom of the main pool at about 1800 BST.

CCTV footage

His body was found in a section of the water which had been covered for the night, after he had been reported missing to police.

Staff at the leisure centre, which is owned by Dundee City Council, were being interviewed by police and health and safety inspectors.

They have also been examining CCTV footage to try and establish the circumstances of Luke's death, which is being treated as an accident.

Tayside Police said a report would be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in Dundee once investigations were completed.

They have asked for anyone who was using the swimming pool between 1600 BST and 1700 BST, and who had not yet spoken to officers, to come forward.
